DoppelTab finds tabs with the same complete web address and lets you review and close the extra copies.

It automatically checks every open tab in your current browser profile. The toolbar badge shows how many duplicate tabs it found.

Exact by design

Query strings, query-parameter order, and fragments remain significant. DoppelTab considers only browser-reported HTTP(S) addresses and never inspects page content.

Safety controls

• The active tab is never closed.
• Pinned and audible tabs are protected by default.
• GitHub pull-request Files pages receive extra protection.
• Close-time checks reject tabs that changed after preview.
• Undo reopens tabs but cannot restore in-page state.

Privacy

Tab information is processed locally on your device. DoppelTab has no host permissions, content scripts, analytics, telemetry, or network calls. After tab access is granted, a local background check keeps the duplicate-count badge current without retaining or transmitting scanned addresses.
